One from me to start the week - Cloudflare Workers AI (disclosure: I work at Cloudflare) added a distilled DeepSeek R1 model last week.
I built a PoC that uses it to dynamically calculate cache durations for my website.
Should you ship this to production? Absolutely not :)

Pretty incredible numbers.
All benchmarks now confirm it: Deepseek is truly is as good as OpenAI's o1 (which is top of the range) for 3% of the price. Boom.
And that's when you want to pay for the API. You can also use it Open Source for "free" (which you can't do with o1).

If you’re building with reasoning models like DeepSeek R1, you know that most providers are wrapping the reasoning output in <think> blocks.
My SDK of choice for building AI apps, Vercel’s AI SDK, almost immediately had great support for these reasoning tokens.
Not every app should showcase this stuff to users - but it’s nice to have the option. Docs in the thread ⬇️
